Dr Young Medical Aesthetics

An aesthetics clinic led by Dr Sophie Young, an NHS GP with over 10 years of clinical experience.

Being a doctor means patient safety is central to everything I do. I take time to understand your goals and to advise honestly on what will—and won’t—work for you.

My approach focuses on subtle, natural enhancement: helping you look well-rested, refreshed, and confident, while preserving what makes you uniquely you.

Anti-wrinkle injections are a popular, non-surgical treatment designed to soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and help maintain a smoother, more youthful-looking complexion.

As we age, repeated facial movements such as frowning, smiling, and raising the eyebrows can cause lines to form and gradually deepen. By using carefully controlled doses of botulinum toxin (a prescription-only medicine), the muscles responsible for these expressions are gently relaxed, allowing the skin to appear smoother and more refreshed. Botox®, Bocouture® and Azzalure® are well-known brands of botulinum toxin that are licensed for use in medical aesthetics.

People choose anti-wrinkle injections for a variety of reasons. Some wish to soften existing lines and wrinkles, while others opt for treatment as a preventative measure to help reduce the formation of deeper lines over time. Patients may feel they look tired, stressed, or stern and wish to achieve a more refreshed appearance.

Treatments are suitable for both men and women and are commonly chosen by patients from their late 20s onwards, depending on individual concerns and goals.

Treatment is tailored to each individual following a full consultation and detailed facial assessment. Small, precise amounts of product are placed into specific muscles to soften the appearance of lines while preserving natural facial expression. The aim is to achieve subtle, refreshed results rather than an over-treated appearance.

Results usually begin to be seen within a few days, with full results visible after around 10–14 days. The effects are temporary and typically last approximately 3–4 months, after which treatment may be repeated if clinically appropriate. Individual results may vary.

Dr Young provides treatments to the following areas:

Upper face injections

Forehead Lines

Forehead lines are caused by repeated raising of the eyebrows and can make the face appear tired or aged over time. Treatment involves injecting small amounts of botulinum toxin into the muscles that lift the eyebrows. This gently relaxes the muscle activity that causes horizontal lines to form, allowing the skin to appear smoother while still maintaining natural expression. Patients typically notice a softer, more relaxed forehead and a fresher overall appearance.

Crows Feet

Frown Lines

Frown lines, often referred to as the “11 lines” between the eyebrows, are caused by repeated frowning or concentrating. These lines can give the appearance of looking angry, worried, or stressed even when you are not. Treatment targets the muscles that pull the eyebrows down and together, helping to soften these lines and open up the area between the brows. Results commonly include a smoother brow area and a more relaxed, approachable facial expression.

Crow’s feet or laughter lines form at the outer corners of the eyes as a result of smiling and squinting. While these lines are a natural part of facial expression, they can become more pronounced over time. Treatment is performed with small, carefully placed injections around the eye area to soften these lines while preserving a natural smile. The result is often a smoother, brighter-looking eye area and a more refreshed appearance.

Choosing your treatment areas

Your treatment plan is guided by your individual goals and what you would like to improve, with advice from Dr Young during your consultation. You may choose to treat one, two, or all three areas, depending on your preferences and clinical suitability. In most cases, forehead lines are not treated in isolation and are usually combined with frown lines to achieve a more even and balanced outcome.
